Built By Someone Who's Been in Your Shoes
Five years treating patients. Now building the software and systems that help PT clinics thrive without the overwhelm.
From PT to Tech Founder
I was a physical therapist from 2019 to 2023. I loved it—helping patients recover, managing operations, understanding the daily grind of running a practice. But starting in 2020, I also taught myself to code. I built a physical therapy app from scratch because I kept thinking: there has to be better software for clinicians.
That app didn't become a product I could sell, but it taught me how clinicians actually work. More importantly, I fell in love with building. So by 2023, I went full-time into software development.
I built a lot of different things: SaaS products, internal automation tools for companies, AI chatbots. I worked across industries—tech, finance, e-commerce—and watched how high-growth businesses solve problems with software and automation. Most of these lessons never make it into healthcare because healthcare people only know healthcare.
Here's the thing though: I was terrified of healthcare compliance. HIPAA specifically. Everyone talked about it like it was this massive barrier. For years, I avoided the PT space because I didn't want to touch it.
Then I built multiple HIPAA-compliant applications. Realized it wasn't magic—just careful architecture and real security thinking. That fear disappeared. And suddenly, I could do things most agencies can't.
A year ago, my wife launched her cash-based vestibular practice. She asked me to help with the digital side. Website, SEO, marketing, the usual stuff. But because I'd already solved the HIPAA problem, I could build her something bigger: patient intake automation, intelligent workflows, data collection, AI-powered content generation. Things that would scare off most agencies because they'd have to actually handle patient data securely.
Within 30 days:
- ✅ +69% increase in Google click-through rate (4.94% → 8.37%)
- ✅ +73% increase in actual clicks from Google search (30 → 52 clicks)
- ✅ 4 #1 rankings achieved for high-value keywords
- ✅ 5 cold lead bookings (up from zero before)
That's when it clicked. Cash-based PT clinics aren't just different—they're open to doing things differently. They want packages instead of per-visit rates. They need to move fast. They understand that marketing and operations aren't separate—they're the same thing.
And I realized: most PT marketing agencies are limited. They can only do websites and SEO because they're not equipped to handle patient data. They can't build custom workflows. They can't do real automation. They're stuck doing basic marketing because HIPAA scares them or they don't know how to do it right.
I'm not limited like that. I've got five years in PT, mastered HIPAA, built real software, and learned how to scale businesses across industries. I incorporated that PT app I built—it's now part of what we offer. I can build the full digital operations system that cash-based clinics actually need.
That's why Behind the Practice exists. To give you the partner who understands your clinic, can build secure patient-facing systems, and knows how to actually grow a business in the modern world.
What Makes Us Different
Clinical expertise meets technical mastery. That's the difference.
Former PT & Clinic Manager
I spent 5 years as a physical therapist and managed a clinic. I know your industry from the inside out.
I understand patient flow, superbill challenges, referral networks, and why cash-based practices operate differently than insurance-based ones. I've lived the daily operational struggles—managing schedules, handling documentation, building patient relationships. Most agencies have to guess what PT clinic owners need. I know because I've been there.
Full-Stack Developer + HIPAA Expert
I build everything from the ground up—SaaS products, automation tools, AI systems, and HIPAA-compliant applications. No contractors, no guesswork.
I've worked across tech, finance, and e-commerce, seeing how high-growth businesses actually scale. Most healthcare people only know healthcare. I bring automation strategies, SaaS thinking, and AI integration that PT agencies never consider. And because I've mastered HIPAA compliance, I can build patient-facing systems that handle data securely—something most agencies avoid entirely.
